Dominican University seeks applicants for Assistant Professor of Translation and Interpretation, specializing in the teaching of consecutive, simultaneous and conference interpreting. The candidate should have an active research agenda in the theory, practice and teaching of Translation and Interpreting Studies and/or significant years of experience in the profession and teaching the skills. Expertise in interpretation within legal and/or health settings with ample experience using technology within the classroom and the field is required.

Required qualifications:
Ph.D. in Translation & Interpretation or related field, A.B.D. or M.A. in Translation with significant professional experience teaching Spanish-to-English and English-to-Spanish T&I courses from an accredited U.S. or International Institution.
Experience teaching interpretation methods, note-taking, and memory techniques at the college level.
Demonstrated interest and experience in language pedagogy with career-oriented outcomes.
Advanced-High or higher proficiency on the ACTFL scale in Spanish and English.
