Dr. Katya Cruz Madrid participated in the 23rd Annual Día del Niño event hosted by the National Museum of Mexican Art and sponsored by UI Health, Medical Organization for Latino Advancement (MOLA) and other companies. The event took place in May 2019 at the National Museum of Mexican Art. Families were invited to an exciting day of fun and interactive activities that included: games, hands-on art projects, fitness activities, free health screenings, live performances. An event to keep children healthy and happy. El Día del Niño is an annual celebration that was created in Mexico in 1925 as a day to honor children. In Mexico, Día del Niño is celebrated in April when children spend the day playing games, having fun, and eating their favorite foods. El Día del Niño is one of the many events that UI Health contributes in the local communities in health education, prevention and outreach.
3rd MOLA Latino Health Symposium, Moving forward Hacia Adelante will take place in Chicago on October 4-5, 2019. The Latino Health Symposium is MOLA’s all-membership educational event. The event will gather medical experts and provide educational opportunities for physician, health professional, and student attendees. In addition, an academic poster session will be a unique opportunity for participants to demonstrate their innovative scholarly achievements.
