CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS! – Resettlement Health Collaborative
You don’t need to go on a medical mission to help people in need from resent natural disasters. Many of them are right here in Chicago and need resources and medical attention.
Who? All MOLA members!
Including physicians (attendings and residents), medical students, pre-health undergraduates, and other health professionals are all needed and welcome to volunteer.
How to sign up? Please email our Public Health Program director Gabriela Saldaña with your interest and date availability.
When? All Fridays in November and December from 9am-1pm are currently being scheduled, starting November 3rd. Volunteers can sign up for one or more dates.
(Please suggest alternative availability if you are interested but not available on Fridays and we may consider offering other clinic dates pending need.)
What?
MOLA will be conducting medical screening exams and assisting evacuees with identifying additional resources during a regular Friday morning clinic at Omni healthcare center (2720 West Division) starting Nov 3rd.
This is a collaborative effort with OMNI health for us to provide medical screening examinations for the approximately 1,600 (and counting) evacuees from Puerto Rico that are now living in Chicago.
Medical information will be provided in advance regarding specific high risk conditions for this population.
