The students of the American Women Medical Association (AMWA), the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), and the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) at Chicago Medical School are proud to announce a combined effort to host our first underrepresented minority women physician panel. Our goal is to help facilitate a conversation between physicians and medical students on the experiences of being an underrepresented women in medicine, or what it means to work with underrepresented groups. We think it is important to help create an environment that encourages support and guidance for those that come from an underrepresented background, or would like to work with disadvantaged communities.
We are currently actively searching for Latinx/Hispanic women physicians, or healthcare professionals, that might be interested in being part of the panel. The event is set to occur on Monday, March 30th from 6-8pm at Rosalind Franklin University, 3333 Green Bay Rd, North Chicago, IL 60064. Dinner will be provided at the event. If you are interested in being part of the panel, and are interested in supporting the next generation of URM women physicians please reach out to [email protected].
